TELL US MORE ABOUT YOUR BACKGROUND AND HOW IT INFLUENCES YOUR APPROACH AND MAKES YOUR WORK AS AN INTERIOR DESIGNER SO SPECIAL?

My passion for interior design was inspired by my family, my love of travel, and my experiences. I followed my parent’s real estate business and got involved with their flair for renovations and décor. From an early age, I experienced the transformation of families through the transformation of their homes. Later, in parallel to my career in Law, I joined my family business to lead the portfolio of managed properties.

After venturing abroad and living in the UK and Spain with my husband for several years, I made a decision in 2012. Inspired by Barcelona's artistic boldness and my interior design studies in IED (Instituto Europeo di Design) I have since been dedicating myself to developing my passion for interior design. This journey led to the founding of MFWInteriors in Switzerland in 2020.

YOUR OBJECTIVE IS TO “BRING YOUR DREAM HOME TO LIFE”. TALK US THROUGH WHAT THIS MEANS…

The dream home is not just a beautiful space – it is a reflection of a person, their family's story and the lifestyle they envision, living in their home. My role goes far beyond aesthetics: I immerse myself in my client’s essence to bring a vision of their desires, needs, and personality.

From concept creation to project execution and the final styling touches, every detail is considered, translating emotions into spaces with harmony to bring this vision to life.

WHAT’S YOUR INTERIOR DESIGN PHILOSOPHY?

The philosophy of MFWInteriors is to translate the unique essence of each client whilst bringing the lush harmony of nature - balancing the details of contrasts, colours, textures, and forms into my designs.

WOULD YOU SAY YOU HAVE A PARTICULAR STYLE YOU FAVOUR IN YOUR INTERIOR DESIGNS?

At MFWInteriors, every project is a personal journey towards the essence of my client. I believe in the power of balance of different shapes, soft tones with spots of contrast, the subtle beauty and presence of plants, layers of textures and materials.

Bringing all of this with harmony creates a unique, sophisticated, warm and inviting space.

WHERE DO YOU GET YOUR INSPIRATION FROM?

Nature is, without a doubt, my greatest inspiration. Having experienced and lived in different continents I am always touched by how cultures are merged and shaped by the surrounding nature and landscape. In all their differences, they all carry extraordinary beauty, and it is an endless source of creativity.

The forests that surround us, with their ever-changing palette of colours, rich textures, and the serenity they provide, deeply influence my design perspective. I have Mont Blanc and Lake Geneva framed by the windows of my home – waking up and falling asleep to this view every day is a blessing.

I strive to bring this connection to nature into every project, creating spaces that evoke the same sense of well-being we experience when surrounded by nature.

DO YOU HAVE A STAND-OUT PROJECT YOU’VE WORKED ON?

Each client is unique, and every project is special in its own way. With each delivery, I share in my clients' emotions, as they see their home come to life—this exchange is always incredibly meaningful.

A recent project brought to life was a wellness centre—an innovative concept for Switzerland. The goal was to transform a raw, open space into a sophisticated retreat blending industrial style with natural elements. The design incorporated bespoke furniture and curated details, from plant selections symbolizing different hair types to carefully chosen materials, creating a multi-sensory experience.

Under my supervision, every detail aligned seamlessly with the project’s vision, resulting in a space where aesthetics and functionality merged to enhance well-being and connection. This project reflects my philosophy—design is about storytelling and elevating experiences.

YOUR CONNECTION WITH THE OUTDOORS IS EVIDENT. DO YOU ALSO DESIGN EXTERIOR SPACES?

I see no difference between the interior and exterior.

I follow the same approach I apply to interior projects. I believe that the same attention to detail should be given to outdoor spaces.

My passion for plants and my background in gardening are fundamental to this process, as I can integrate greenery in a thoughtful and intentional way, respecting the space and creating an atmosphere that brings balance and freshness.

At MFWInteriors, we have increasingly dedicated ourselves to exterior projects, understanding that a well-designed garden or outdoor area is essential to complement the interior, creating a seamless flow of style and sensations between the indoor and outdoor environments. Each project is carefully designed to reflect the client's style and needs, always with the same dedication and attention to detail that we give to interior design.

IF YOU COULD GIVE ONE PIECE OF ADVICE TO SOMEONE ABOUT TO RETHINK OR RENOVATE THEIR HOME WHAT WOULD IT BE?

When it comes to renovating or redecorating a space, it's essential to understand that it's not just about choosing furniture or colours. In fact, it's like creating a strategic plan where every detail has a purpose, and each step is carefully thought out to achieve the best possible result. My advice? Hire a professional you connect with and trust. A specialist brings a holistic vision to the project, anticipating challenges and offering solutions that may not have been considered.

At MFWInteriors, we don’t just create interior design projects; we’re present at every stage of the process, from concept to execution. We manage the project, coordinate the teams, and resolve unforeseen issues, ensuring a smooth experience and a flawless final result.

WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE PIECE OF FURNITURE WE OFFER AT MILOLA AND WHY?

My favorite piece of furniture at Milola is the ZHAPO Solid Wood Asymmetric Dining Table in Natural Oiled Oak. Its design is both beautiful and elegant, and I especially love its asymmetric shape. It adds a sense of spontaneity to the layout, which I truly appreciate.
